Annette Curtin RIP

CrucifixANNETTE CURTIN
After a tough battle, bravely fought, our good friend, Annette, the wife of our competition secretary, Neily Curtin, passed away last night. Her passing was an ease to her. She fought her illness courageously and with resolution, but in the end her body could struggle no more.

To those of us who had the privilege of knowing her, she was Neily’s rock, his friend, his lovely Annette. She was there when he got his LIPF and was there again last year, despite her illness, when he was awarded his AIPF. Her loss is terrible for him, their four children, her parents, brother and sisters, and for all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A teacher by profession, one of her legacies is a love of the Irish language which she instilled in others. Her faith was deep. Over the past week in particular, that faith helped her and her family bear the burden of her final hours.

“You can shed tears because she is gone, or smile because she lived”.

Ar dheis lámh Dé go raibh a hanam dílís.
