Mallow Camera Club Hosts SACC Nature Competition

Mallow Camera Club is delighted to host the SACC Regional Qualifier for IPF National Nature Competition 2014.  The competition will be held next Sunday, 26 January 2014, in The Amelian Theatre, St Mary’s Secondary School, Mallow.  Judging is open to the public and entry is free.

There are a number of sections in the competition:
Open Sections:
Colour Print (FIAP definition)
Projected Image (FIAP definition)
NEW – Projected – The Natural World

Themed Sections:
Colour Print – Peatland Ireland (FIAP definition)
Projected Image – Birds Feeding (FIAP definition)
In addition, the SACC will be awarding certificates for Best Flora, Best Fungi and Best Bug.

Programme: Sunday 26 January 2014.
08:30 – 09:30 Registration and handover of prints.
09:30 – 10:30 Judges’ preview of images.
10:30 – 13:00 Public judging of Prints.
13:00 – 14:00 Lunch. Snacks and hot food will be available at the venue.
14:00 – 16:30 Public judging of Projected Images.
16:30 Results and Presentation of awards.
Times may vary slightly during the day.  It is also very likely that at least one of the Projected Image sections will be judged before lunch.

Judges: The judges for the competition are Mark Sedgwick, FIPF, EFIAP (Celbridge Camera Club) and Jack Malins, ARPS (Wicklow Camera Club). The judges have indicated that they will comment on a significant number of the images.

This is an individual competition, open to all photographers who are members of clubs affiliated to the SACC and the IPF.  Images must be entered via Picturk (http://sacc-nature.picturk.com) before midnight on Friday 24 January 2014.
