The National Shield

Tomorrow is the big day when photography clubs around Ireland descend on Portlaoise for the Irish Photographic Federation’s National Shield Competition. This year Dunamaise Photographic Society is hosting the competition. It’s on in the Heritage Hotel, Portlaoise but if you don’t know your way there a map of the town is online too.

Mallow Camera Club will be represented there by members who are traveling up early tomorrow morning. Give Brid a ring if you’re interested in going. They’re leaving very early in the morning so you can’t say you weren’t warned!

We’ll be in good company, I see that Sligo Camera Club will be there too. It should be a good day for all!

Update – the results are out, via Sligo Camera Club. I’ll post more details about the competition later along with photos.

  1. Congrats on the new site! It was great to see your panels on Sunday. I thought they were very strong/stunning! It was a great event – huge crowd and lots of amazing photography on display. The overall standard was exceptional.
