Our identity

Mallow Camera Club was set up in 1986 by a group of enthusiastic photographers who wanted to share their interest in photography with other similar minded people in the area. Over the years the club has grown from strength to strength attracting member from not only the North Cork area but also from Cork City and counties Limerick and Kerry.

The club is affiliated to both the Southern Association of Camera Clubs (SACC), and the Irish Photographic Federation (IPF).

M.C.C. operates as a Data Controller, determining the purposes and means of processing the personal data we hold, and can be contacted by email

M.C.C. gathers and processes personal data on the basis of consent. Your information is used only to send you the information about MCC which you have agreed to receive, in the manner consented to by you consent for this may be withdrawn at any time.

How Data is Collected

Personal data

Personal data is collected on joining M.C.C. in the following way: Names and email addresses, phone numbers, websites, Facebook pages, and level of competence are collected via the Club Application Form form when members input these details in order to receive email and WhatsApp announcements & updates regarding M.C.C. activities.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Personal data is held and processed until such time as you communicate to us in writing that you wish for them to be removed.

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
