Mallow Camera Club had an enjoyable Photographer of the Year Party, with wine, cakes and a festive mood adding to the highlight of the club’s year. POTY is definitely one of the highlights of the club’s year and, as one might expect, we had a full house on the night.
Each member was allowed enter up to four images in each of three categories – Mono Print, Colour Print and Projected Digital Image. The winners in each category were adjudicated by Paul Reidy (Blarney Photography Club), Joe Forde and Morgan O’Neill (Cork Camera Club).
The overall Photographer of the Year was Bill Power, FIPF, AFIAP, who wasd also declared Photographer of the Year. Christopher Bourke was declared Beginner Photographer of the Year and the Intermediate Photographer of the Year was Janusz Tresecki. Congratulations to all the club members who took part, and especially the winners. It was another great evening for the club.
We were delighted to welcome John Doheny to the POTY. John has been ill recently and he received a very warm and heartfelt welcome back from the members, who sincerely look forward to seeing more of him in the year ahead.
The club is now on holidays for the summer, but we will be resuming activities on the first Monday in September. New members are always welcome.
