The 2014 Mallow Camera Club Photographer of the Year competition was held on Monday night last, 19 May.  As expected there was a full house for the event, which was judged by Iñaki Hernández-Lasa, Morgan O’Neill and John Finn all from Cork Camera Group.
After the judging and some light refreshments the judges provided feedback on a selection of images entered in the competition. Â The results were then announced by Club Chairman Bill Power.

Best Colour Print
Prints by Bill Power and Viv Buckley tied on maximum points. Both images went back before the judges who decided to award the winning trophy for Best Colour Print to Bill Power for his image ‘Light Above the Crossroads’.
Best Image by a Non-Distinction Holder
The winner of the best image by a member not holding a distinction was won by Michal Poplawski for his mono image ‘Expecting Mother’.
2014 MCC Photographer of the Year
The Photographer of the Year Cup was won by Bill Power.
