Great success for club members today at the SACC nature photographer of the year competition in the Celtic Ross Hotel Rosscarbery.
Jim McSweeney won gold and sliver medals in the non advanced colour Print open. In the non advanced print themed section he won the competition and was awarded the silver medal, and in the project image open competition Jim was awarded an honourable mention and topped off with the gold medal in this category. Very well done Jim with your beautifulimages, 2 gold 2 silver and an HM.
Further success for the club when Breda O’Mullane won the non adavanced Insect themed competition and was awarded the silver medal. Well done Breda!
Then Teddy Sugrue won an honourable mention in the advanced projected image competition, congratulations Teddy!
Finally Bill Power was awarded an honourable mention in the advanced Natural World competition competition for Cork Camera group, well done Bill.
Other club members who had images accepted at the competition today for the final of the Nature Photographer of the Year competition that is going to take place on the weekend of the 20th Feb in Kilkenny are Paul Tips, Chris Bourke, Peggy O’Brien. A proud day for the club today. There were a number of club members there today to support our nature photographers and we really enjoyed a day of great photography.

This will be followed by a talk about long exposure photography and using filters for seascape photography in preparation for our weekend in Dingle next weekend by John Hooton and finally Theresa Collins will show us some of her images from her portfolio.
